It's a book. It's one of my favorites. And yesterday I had my very own "Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day". Without going into details, just know that it was. Honestly, the whole week was challenging, and it would be really easy to focus on all that went wrong. (And, trust me, it was a lot!)
But I'm not going to spend today doing that. What would it serve? It wouldn't change the week I had and what my body and spirit need more than anything right now is rest and calm. And thinking about it all won't bring rest, and it won't bring calm.
So, instead, I'm going to focus on what I CAN do. Setting up the week ahead for as much success as I can control. (Which isn't a lot.) And spend time this afternoon reaching out to the people who truly brought JOY to my life last week. And, you know what, that's not a short list. Yes, the circumstances around last week weren't favorable, but I'm surrounded by a personal community of encouragement and joy and love.
If you had a week like mine, just spend today doing what you can do and what you need to do for you. You're a fabulous investment and I'm cheering you on! And in case you need a giggle, take a look at https://a.co/d/cgHoEOB. You'll be glad you did!
Jenourous Living isn't just about generosity to others. It's also about being generous to yourself.
